My Media World

What media do i use? How does it affect me and the world I live in?

I used PhotoBooth from my Mac Pro to film myself talking about the most important media that I use... my phone

I like watching different genres of films like comedy, romance, thriller, etc. I usually go to the website IMDb ( http://www.imdb.com/ ) to get the latest news and information about films all around the world. I prefer watching a film in cinema rather than downloading it from iTunes. However I occasionally download films on iTunes, especially for relaxing films, so that i can watch them with my phone on bus or with my laptop at night.

Music is important in my life and i tend to listen with my phone, my lap top or my JBL speaker and I use watch music videos on Youtube all the time.

I use the Internet all the time. I find it really convenient and it helps me with my homework and research. I read online news on the Internet, not only local news, but news form Hong Kong and even all over the world. I still buy magazines though, because I can always find nice pictures and texts form them that I would cut out and save for future use.

I love watching TV episodes but I usually watch them on the Internet because I can watch them anytime I want and I wouldn't have to worry about missing them. I usually use iPlayer or the website below to watch different TV dramas.  http://www.tvduck.com/  I enjoy watching British, American and Chinese TVs.

Media has become such an important part of my life. I depend on it and it helps me complete my everyday tasks. We learn so much more about the world through different medias. People used to spend hours and hours on doing research by reading newspaper, books and magazines, but they had never thought that those complicated process and tasks can be replaced by Google, Yahoo and Bing now.
Media makes our life much easier and brings people together, however sometimes tears people further apart..

  1. This is full and informative. I like the use of images. As discussed in class, it needs some video, audio, pictures of you using your media and so on, in order to make its presentation more dynamic.

  2. This is an excellent addition to your post. Well done, Karen. Remember to light any video work carefully: for example, shoot with the sunlight behind you rather than into the window, and add a task light to make your subject clear, in this case, yourself! Grade A
